Racor Pro HeavyLift 4-by-4-Foot Cable-Lifted Storage Rack #PHL-1R

Racor Pro HeavyLift 4-by-4-Foot Cable-Lifted Storage Rack #PHL-1R
Load, lift, and store up to 250 pounds of heavy items against the ceiling with the cable-lift storage rack from Racor. Without having to bust out the ladder, the rack lifts stored goods up to 8 feet in the air for storing against high ceilings. With 4 square feet of storage space, there’s plenty of room for several large boxes, planters, hoses, tires, and more. Steel support cables offer optimal stability and are vinyl coated for rust resistance. Heavy-duty support beams ensure plenty of support for full loads. The system raises and lowers with the handy winding axle. Just to get you started; here’s a list of some of the things you might put up there: file boxes, outdoor furniture, lawn mowers, big tools, snow throwers, large toys, canoes, kayaks, holiday ornaments, tires, ladders lumber, third row car seats and just about anything else you can imagine. –Brian D. I find this to be a pretty good product. The installation wasn’t too difficult, although it did take several hours.
When the rack has near 200 lbs on it the difficulty in cranking it upward is fairly high. I have overcome this by leaving the plastic handle off of the bottom and attaching a heavy duty drill in its place. The drill make raising and lowering the platform a breeze.
I do wish it came with longer cables. My garage ceiling is a bit tall so in the lift’s current setup when it is fully lowered it is still 3.5 - 4 feet off of the ground. I will eventually replace the the provided cables with longer ones.
Customer Review: True garge saver
The installation of this unit is not near as hard as some of the reviewers are claiming. I did my install alone.
It might be that I am lucky having my joists 48″ apart (16″ spacing), but after the install I measured things and there is quite some play on the axle, certainly to accommodate odd spacings.
The lag bolts are ok, people twisting their heads off should keep in mind you don’t have to torque them to 200lb! Moderate force is sufficient since it is the beam supporting the weight not how hard you torque them in! Plus you have 6 or 8 (forgot how many) there for each arm.
The only problematic thing for me personally was the length of steel cable. I was 2-3 inches short on each side and could not reach the ground. One side has sufficient excess of cable so that after reworking ties I was able to reach the floor, for the other I used some spare cable I had left over after installing dog tie out, exact same gage lucky me
You don’t need to re-do the crank to use a drill to raise/lower it. Just don’t assemble it and use the “hook” end only. The diameter of rod is just small enough to slip into the drill and keeping it and reasonably low speed will do all the work for you without excessive jiggling.
I am using my unit to hold lawnmower, power wash, and couple small items, can’t be more happy with it!

Pilates Beginning Mat Workout
Beginning Mat Workout focuses on strengthening the “powerhouse” - the muscles in the center of the body that are instrumental to creating and maintaining good posture and alignment.
Customer Review: Fine reference material
My review will be a little contradictory. I don’t think I would have understood the Pilates principles by only watching this video, because Ana Caban doesn’t really explain very much about the principles. But, since there is only one main workout, the routine stops while she gives instructions on the move. For people like me who are lazy and impatient, there’s too much time for my mind to wander once I understand the move. There is a bonus workout that probably benefits those who really have the moves in the main routine down pat. I’m not coordinated enough to follow the bonus workout. I got this video after someone suggested it to augment Brooke Siler’s book and kit, The Pilates Body, which gives excellent explanations of the Pilates principles and good mental visualizations for what the moves should feel like. Both of those things are helpful for people doing Pilates at home. Ana Caban’s instructions tend to focus a little too much on what the moves look like. That really doesn’t help me when I’m doing it, because I don’t have a mirrored wall. However, for those times when I need to reassure myself — “I put my arms where? How fast should I be doing this? Am I doing this right?” — this video has been very helpful. I just wouldn’t use it as my primary Pilates workout. I gave it three stars for its usefulness as a reference and the bonus workout, which will be a nice variation in my regular Pilates routine when I’m finally coordinated and strong enough to do it.
Customer Review: Decent for beginners but lacks info on overall pilates method
I bought this DVD several years ago with good intentions, but never ended up using it until now. I wanted to extend my workouts at home, as I have been part of a weekly pilates class at a gym for over a year and have taken courses at a pilates studio for further instruction. This DVD involves very basic pilates moves that can be done with modification. The instruction is easy to follow. Some of the camera angles and shots try to be edgy and cool but instead they are distracting and corny. At times I looked up to check the pose and found it hard to see what the instructor was doing. I also think this entire DVD is lacking on instruction for proper breathing technique and should involve more explanation on how the moves effect your body. The “C” curve and rolling up movements could be explained in more detail, especially considering the rolling up should be done with a focus on using the abdominal muscles and not just rocking and rolling. This has always been a hard move for me and my previous instruction from the pilates studio is the only reason I felt comfortable doing those movements from the DVD. I would caution people who are new to pilates to always start with the modified moves and perhaps use another pilates DVD along with this which includes more instruction on pilates method overall.
