Customer Review: BEST BUY FOR YOUR MONEY
I have owned this juicer for over a year and really love it. I use it mainly for my own version of “V-8″ juice (carrots, celery, spinach, lemon) to easily and quickly increase the number of vegetables I eat during the day. This type of veggie juice also gives good immune system support - I rarely get sick when everyone around me is getting the flu or a cold.

The juicer itself is fairly quiet and the large intake tube easily holds whole carrots, celery, bunches of spinach or a whole (peeled) lemon. Yes, there is some prep time to making a juice (cutting ends of carrots, peeling the lemon) but the results are worth it. Your health is worth it! It does take a few minutes to clean the juicer but I found a vegetable scrub brush works great for cleaning the blade and screen. Also, use small bags to line the pulp receptacle then pull out and dispose or use for garden compost. Easy.

I don’t know if this is the best juicer on the market but, without having to spend a fortune, it certainly more than serves its purpose …. I use it several times a week and haven’t had any particular issues. Definitely a great boost to your health.

Those of us old enough to remember Jack LaLanne doing jumping jacks as we watched on black and white television sets will recall that the early fitness guru was really into fresh juices. My original intent was to get one of those rotating machines where you press an orange onto it and out comes a glass of juice. It turns out these juicers are not as easy to find as they used to be. So I decided to upgrade a bit and get this machine.

If you are making orange or other citrus juice you need to remove the peel first. This is because this baby will liquify anything. Pulverized orange peel is not that tasty. So at the start, it is messier and takes more work than using a rotating juice extraction device. But that is the only real advantage.

LaLanne’s makes a great cup of orange juice. And if that is all the use it gets, you will not be disappointed. However shortly after I got it, I was asked by my wife to get some apple juice for some apple sauce she was making. While picking up my keys on the kitchen counter, I spied Jack’s machine, and being basically lazy, I took two apples and ran them through the juicers. The result was delicious. I had no idea an apple had so much juice.

Now there will be those who will want to juice carrots and celery and other healthy items. I am sure this product will work just fine. But as for me, I am content drinking fruit juices. If I get really brave some day, I might try a tomato.

The pedometer works pretty well. You have to be sure to wear it on your hip if you want it to count steps accurately. It only accepts stride measurements in even numbers: 28″, 30″, 32″. So if your stride is 31″ you have to set it to measure a bit more or a bit less than the actual distance you walk.

This set is junk! I am so disappointed! I really wanted my two year old to be able to play with this for a long time to come. The material is so flimsy that I doubt it will last much longer than a month or two. We will probably be returning it. They really need to make these tents more durable. It’s a shame because the concept is wonderful for kids.

The tunnels are great by themseleves, but the square tent fell apart about 3 hours after my toddlers began playing with it. The tunnels do not stay in place and so the middle tent falls flat and is useless. The construction is shoddy at best. I will be looking to purchase Play Hut in the future.

Customer Review: Not too shabby
From a girl that’s always scorned things like diet shakes and meal-in-a-glass sustenance, this Herbalife wasn’t so bad. I’m using it because it’s quick and easy to pack in the mornings before dashing off to school, but it tastes pretty good. I won’t lie and say it completely fills me up, but pack a handful of almonds for your crunch craving, a serving of fruit (I recommend the Fruit Leather products), and of course, a bite or two of dark chocolate - and you’ve got yourself a meal. I haven’t been using it long enough to say its effects on my weight, but I’m sure it’s doing the job. I’m too hungry by dinner for it not to be.

The grittiness is forgiveable (somehow I feel better that it’s less processed), the earthy taste is not a total turn-off but I feel calling it delicious is a stretch. Of 3 different sweetners I tried with it, honey seemed best to neutralize the earthy aftertaste. It does seem to keep my energy stable, and it will definitely keep you “regular”. I’d give it a 5 if not for the aftertaste because I like everything else about this product and the marketing of hemp as an excellent protein source.

I regularly buy this product along with Nutiva Chocolate Hempshakes. I used to add the protein powder to green smoothies for a boost of fiber, however I eventually decided that making smoothies everyday was too much work. I now add two tablespoons of this to the 4 tablespoons of chocolate Hempshake for a delicious shake with 75% RDI of fiber. It is true that it is a little gritty in whatever you’re putting it in, however if you let it sit for a few minutes it smooths up nicely. By the way, this product is intended to be MIXED with other drinks or smoothies, not taken straight with water. The reviewers who gave this a poor rating because of taste and only had the powder straight need to get a clue. It has no sugar or other additives; it’s just ground hemp seed, unlike other fiber products loaded down with sugar or other sweeteners. Nutiva makes great products and they really do improve your health. I drink two Hempshakes a day which means I’m getting 4 tablespoons of this hemp protein powder and I have not been sick at all this year, which is amazing being that I’m a teacher. Customer Review: Train To Climb Mt Rainier
There aren’t too many training videos available on mountaineering. Actually this is the only one I know. Even books are rare. I really enjoyd the set of mountaineering specific gym exercises and stretches. I got new ideas for my training sessions. Also the suggested 6-month training program was very thorough and unique. Being able to do all that one must be fit enough for Mt. Rainier. I have only climbed European 4-thousand-meter peaks and 5-6 hours/wk of endurance training during the last 3 months before the trip has been enough so far (2-4 hours/wk during off season). Maybe the long summit day makes Mt. Rainier harder than e.g. Mont Blanc. I wish the DVD had included more endurance training on top of strength and flexibility training. Why they always make these documents so short? Mountaineering is a hobby of passion! I could easily watch a 20-hour training video on climbing high mountains. It’s good that they left training for other climbing sports out in the document, because I think the audience is different. It shows that the video was made years ago, which isn’t necessarily a flaw. Video and sound quality are good enough for the purpose, but what is more important is that the takes are long and stabile. I just hate the modern restless “millisecond/take” style. More videos like this, please!

Customer Review: A painful, but realistic look at a tragic story
As a friend of Mark, I was very skeptical that anyone could tell his story. But I was impressed that the movie portrays Gator as a real person, and not just a celebrity gone bad. It captures the energy and culture of skateboarding in the 1980s, and follows Gator’s life from his childhood until his incarceration for murder in 1991. It makes no assumptions or judgments, and tells the story through friends, family, and an interview with Gator while in prison.

It’s a must see if you’re a skateboard fan, but you’ll appreciate the power of the story even if you know nothing about skateboarding.
Customer Review: What of the desceased?
Interesting movie but I’m a little puzzled. On one hand, the movie very accurately portrays the 80’s skateboard scene (brings back lots of great memories especially clothing styles). It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement just like the dogtown documentary. On the other hand, very little is mentioned about the girl who was killed by Gator. Her skull gets more air time than any video footage or stories of her life. What of her background? Her family? Her dreams? Why should it only be about Gator? Lastly, Jason Jesse is hilarious.

Customer Review: Why read a book when you can watch a video?
I’m kind of a visual person, and I don’t have the patience to read a maintenance book. That’s why i like this dvd. I can easily see what needs to be done to adjust my derailers for example. Then if I can’t figure it out I just rewind a little. This dvd has saved me a ton of money. Even offers some unique ways to fix flats that I hadn’t thought of.

I’m also mainly a bike commuter-often times at night. Other unique items that I use for night riding include the Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes-Envy(green) & illuminite leg & arm warmers Performance illumiNITE Leg Warmers

I have a done a little more off road mountain biking recently and found these videos useful: Performance Mountain Biking & Wildflower Mountain Biking for Women. What can I add that hasn’t already been said earlier?

If you can get the book and the dvd. This has been a great introduction for myself as I wanted to learn how to best maintain my mountain bike. It has proven to be very accessible for even a beginner like myself and yet not feel like I’m being talked down to by the author.

I only recently bought this and already some of the maintenance & repairs I’ve done have saved some serious cash. Now as I walk into the local bicycle shop I know what I need for the tasks at hand.

For the maintenance and repairs I do now I save myself money and also I spare the time of the local bicycle mechanics by not taking it in for maintenance jobs I can now do. They have noted this and do appreciate it.

Customer Review: Anti-fog incorrect
Nice looking goggles, but not enough vents to keep them from fogging up. Rode the ski lift to the top and goggles were already fogged over. Cleaned the goggles and started down the mountain and couldn’t see a thing. Made it to club house and purchased new goggles. Wouldn’t reccommend to anyone.
