Customer Review: SECRET INSIGHTS OF SUCCESSFUL LOSERS!
Taken from the TV show The Biggest Loser, where people lose weight and change their lives, this book gives you the “success secrets” the show’s participants used to transform their bodies. This book reveals the contestant’s insights and how they personally overcame their cravings, resistance to exercise, and desire to revert back to old lifestyle habits. They also describe how they kept going during plateaus and into maintenance. Along with diet and exercise tips and daily lifestyle habits, the book has the contestant’s testimonials and photos. The contestants are generous with their stories, victories, and advice in their testimonials and quotes that are scattered throughout the book. You get the feeling they want to help others through struggles and onward to weight-loss victory. The contents: Introduction: The biggest Loser Secrets and Suggestions…Revealed! Chapter 1: The Inspiration to Make a Change: Getting Started Chapter 2: Eating Healthfully: Psychological Tips and Tricks Chapter 3: Burning Calories: Motivation to Get Moving and Keep Moving Chapter 4: Managing Self-Esteem and Body Image Issues: Tips for Staying Positive and Strong Chapter 5: Staying in the Game: Inspiration to Help You Reach Your Goals Chapter 6: Hitting Plateaus: How to Break Through Fitness Barriers Chapter 7: Support or Sabotage? The Powerful Influence of Family and Friends Chapter 8: The Post-Loser Lifestyle: Living Fit References, Resources, Acknowledgements, Index The book instructs you to keep a daily journal of what you eat as well as what exercise you do. The diet is based on calorie control and has 3 main meals and 2 snacks. A typical day’s menu is: one egg with turkey bacon for breakfast; cherries, cottage cheese, and almonds for morning snack; a spinach salad with skinless chicken breast and half an apple for lunch; Greek-style plain, fat free yogurt with blueberries for a snack; and grilled salmon with steamed quinoa and broccoli and a peach for dinner. If you want recipes, you need to get the “Biggest Loser Cookbook”. The Biggest Loser plan itself is described in “The Biggest Loser: The Weight Loss Program to Transform Your Body, Health, and Life–Adapted from NBC’s Hit Show”. This book focuses more on motivation and techniques rather than nuts and bolts diet and exercise. We all know that the key to weigh loss success is motivation and managing the mind. This book does a great job of reminding us of this truth. The book mentions a “moment” and “triggering event” that finally pushes people over the edge and awakens their desire to lose weight even if it means making substantial changes in their life and giving up their comfortable but bad habits. The book affirms that the key to weigh loss is managing our mind and behavior, not just eating and exercise. The testimonials in the book are heartfelt and inspiring. This is a great book for motivation! Debra Lawrence, author of THE 3:00 PM SECRET: Live Slim and Strong, Live Your Dreams
Customer Review: Simple baby steps to success
The Biggest Loser Success Secrets is great because it has testimonials, photos, and baby steps to follow to inspire a person to success. You can easily open the book, look at a before and after photo, and be fired up again to stick to your diet and exercise. Huge successes all happened with daily faithful habits that snowballed into major changes. This isn’t a book you have to read cover to cover, just pick it up and LOOK at it. Most anyone should be able to look at the photos, quick tips, habits to cultivate, and say, “if they can do it, I can do it.” I think one of the biggest appeals is that these successes are everyday people like you, me, us, and our families and friends, NOT superstars or supermodels. The book is good reference to keep with you for bedtime or early morning inspiration. Keep one in the lunchroom at work too–great way to keep all the dieters motivated. This one’s a keeper!

Customer Review: Regular Tea drinker
Very good quality product.

The only problem I have with this product is that because it is made of metal it becomes very hot if you touch it after the water boiled.

Other tea kettles from Krups that are made of plastic do not get hot much.

Other than this the quality is excellent.

Customer Review: love it
We use this 5 times a day and it works like a champ. It is sturdy and heats water quickly.

The Abs Diet Workout
The Abs Diet Workout has been enjoying favorable reactions from many users, and it’s easy to see why, as “host” and fitness trainer Tom Holland has designed a regimen that’s brisk, efficient, thorough, and fun. Disregard the hype that calls it “a way of life” instead of simply a diet or exercise program. On the other hand, Holland’s claim that The Abs Diet Workout will increase metabolism and help lose fat and build muscle is very likely true, assuming one dutifully does the exercises and follows the diet guidelines and menus as directed. The exercise portion offers a brief warmup (running in place, jumping jacks, simulated jump rope), followed by a choice of three abdominal routines; the latter vary in difficulty from beginner to advanced, but all three are designed to work the upper, lower, and oblique abs, as well as the transverse abdominis muscle and the lower back. The “circuit training” portion also has three options, each including squats, lunges, quad and hamstring stretches, pushups, and various exercises for the arms (the use of dumbbells is recommended). Add to that an extensive list of recipes for a diet plan that includes three meals and three snacks per day, and you’ve got pretty much everything you need for a comprehensive program designed to yield noticeable results in a matter of weeks. –Sam Graham

Customer Review: Great full body workout
This is a great full body workout, with more emphasis on the abs. Also, you’ll get helpfull food tips to maximize the results. The abs workout just by itself is not as dificult as I thought (at least for myself), but if you do the entire dvd workout (full body) then the results are good.
Customer Review: Best abs workout I’ve ever used. This actually works
This DVD has amazed me with almost immediate results. I saw a HUGE difference once I started on the regimen. Not only does it show you how to eat (which in itself is very loose and are basically just guidelines on how to eat), but most importantly it gives you a abs workout regimen for some rock hard abs. Not only that, but they have different workouts for beginners, intermediates, and experts. I used to kill myself doing 300 sit-ups within 30 minutes and I still would not get half as good results as this workout that probably takes 15 minutes at most. It REALLY burns off that stubborn, hard-to-burn belly fat (although it still won’t substitute a well-balanced diet). I mean, my love handles have basically disappeared. It truly targets your WHOLE core, including abdominals. This is why it is so effective and you don’t need any equipment. Save your money and avoid buying that ab cruncher machine. This DVD is all that you will ever need.

Smartwool Skiing Light Pro

April 22nd, 2008

Smartwool Skiing Light Pro
SmartWool was founded in New Zealand. A group of Ski instructors were bothered with cold feet while being on the slopes for hours. Through research they learned that the New Zealand Merino was soft, strong and white. As a result, SmartWool was in business. The Merino wool keeps your feet warm in cold weather and cool in warm weather. And, these socks will not allow odor bacteria to build up in the fibers. These socks are wonderful for anyone who is active such as skiers, firefighters, professional athletes, hikers, runners, cyclists and climbers. The Ski Light Sock is very popular. And for those days that you need to be in the office - you can also enjoy the dress slack socks that are available. A few SmartWool socks to look for: SmartWool RBX Racer Sock - A light cushioned sock designed for runners, cyclists and x-trainers. Waffle knit in-step. SmartWool Hiking Medium Crew sock is a 1996 winner of Backpacker Magazine’s Editors’ Choice Award. SmartWool Men’s Express (formerly Casual Walk) sock - This sock has superb stretch with luxurious soft SmartWool. Wear them with casual or dress shoes. SmartWool Snowflake Sock is a non-cusion sock for the casual lifestyle. This sock is made from 70% wool, 26% nylon, and 4% elastic. SmartWool liner sock - provides a close, lightweight fit to aid the adventurer’s skin from friction and blisters.

Customer Review: Awesome
Sticky-gooey, of quite substantial size, with great consistency and an AWESOME blend of lots of almonds, peanuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, pretzel sticks, sweet raisins, and smooth dark chocolate chips. Chewy (Rice Krispy-like tear-apart consistency), but with a crunch; sweet and salty — a very filling snack and great source of healthy fat: 8g fat (zero trans-, and only 1.5g saturated) with 7g protein and 2g fiber. Also, unlike many other “healthy”/”nutrition” snack bars, includes potassium, vitamin C, calcium, iron, magnesium. If you’re sensitive to them, perhaps you’d prefer less sugar (12g) or sodium (220g), but, overall, a real treat.

Warren Miller’s Journey Wherever snow falls, a Warren Miller camera is there to catch it, bringing the magic of snowriding into your home!

In fifty-four years of capturing the worldwide flavor of alpine skiing and kindred adventure sports, the Warren Miller crew has traveled to every corner of the globe. This season’s Journey offers another prismatic view of the kaleidoscope of winter sports, taking the viewer on a voyage inside the soul of skiing. Ports of call include the treeless snowfields of Portillo, Chile; the savage couloirs of Chamonix, France; the sheer descents of the Chugach Range in Alaska; and the powder paradise of Bella Coola, British Columbia. A backwater romp through the wilds of Morocco provides a pungent whiff of the exotic, while a visit to a very unfrozen lake in Helena, Montana, is no less strange. As Doug Coombs remarks to his friends in a Chamonix bar after a long day of indulging diverse challenges, “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.” True, but there’s also a lot to be said for the destinations along the trail of Warren Miller’s Journey.

Customer Review: More Warren Miller goodness
And as good as the ski and snowboard coverage is, the part at the end with Loic Jean Albert doing 100+ mph down the face of the mountain in a wingsuit blew my mind. Link to YouTube below…you have to see this to believe it. It’s one thing to see folks using wingsuits while skydiving, but the way Albert does it skimming the surface of the mountain gives it a perspective that is the closest thing to human flight I’ve ever seen:

Wow.
