Sesame Street - Let’s Eat! Funny Food Songs
Bubblehead waiter Elmo tires to serve food at Planet Storybook. While hobnobbing with Little Miss Muffet and others, he introduces several Sesame Street songs, including “Cereal Girl” (a satire of “Material Girl”) and “The Most Important Meal of the Day.” Best bit is Cookie Monster singing about things other than cookies that are good for you. –Doug Thomas

Customer Review: let’s eat
As they say in espanol ESTUPENDO. Great songs fabulous presentation and it works. Couldn’t rate it highly enough. Lo Mejor The other titles I have purchased were also of a high standard and most enjoyable.

Customer Review: It’s OK…
There’s some parts of the video that is really entertaining, but also had a lot of filler stuff that didn’t really get my daughter’s attention. For the most part, I’d say this one is OK.

Radio Liberty: Iodine
Is iodine essential for health? Did you know iodine used to be in bread, milk, and salt? Why was it removed? What happens to people with a mild iodine deficiency? What happens to people with a significant iodine deficiency? Can it be corrected without prescription medicines or does it need to be? This is an eye-opening set of interviews.

African Healing Dance

March 31st, 2008

African Healing Dance
African Healing Dance, with lead dancer Wyoma and the dancers and drummers of the Damballa dance troupe, is a step-by-step dance course on healing traditions and spiritual movements that are special to the African dance heritage. An African proverb teaches, “If you can talk, you can sing, and if you can walk, you can dance.” Thus African Healing Dance is suited for beginning to advanced dancers, students of dance, instructors, and choreographers studying and/or performing African dance. The instructional video and included manual provide an effective guide for a dance or exercise program at home or in a workshop setting. Director of the Damballa dance troupe as well as head dancer, Wyoma begins with a simple warm-up, including breathing techniques; body articulation movements for the hips, chest, shoulders, and feet; and stretching. She then artistically integrates the teaching of six traditional African dances with the passion and joy of connecting dance movements that have the spirit and energy of nature and the elements (water, wind, fire, and earth) and animals such as the snake, elephant, and bird. A final portion of the 70-minute video is called “The Healing Journey,” in which Wyoma encourages personal exploration of inner rhythms and feelings through improvisational movement. As one watches this video, it is difficult not to feel the pulse of the drumbeat and the spiritual strength of Wyoma and her celebration of life through dance. –Christine Aiken

Customer Review: a totally comprehensive and fantastic course in African dance
This was a course, not a workout. Wyoma provides fundamentals, explains the creative narrative behind each MOVE (!!!!) and describes differences between dances. She also has an improv section. I am currently studying W. African dance and Afro-Brasilian, and find THIS DVD to be an inivaluable addition to my studies. This is for folks, however, who want more than a cursory routine or overview of African dance. This is the real deal. The outdoor setting is superlative.

Customer Review: Not for beginners
For someone who isn’t a stranger to African dancing I found the instruction catered more to the intermediate or advanced dancer. At times some of the steps could have been broken down more for the dances. I felt that Wyoma and her dancers were more into giving a show then teaching African dance steps. This wasn’t a good investment in my money at all!!!

Moon Sand 7 1/2lb Mega Bucket
Moon Sand you can mold in a handy storage bucket. It’s the fun of the beach without the mess. Sand is made in Sweden. 7.5 lb. of Moon Sand (red, white, and blue) inflatable sand box
List Price: $29.99
Amazon Price: $14.69
Customer Review: Moon Sand
My children are 8 and 10 years old. With most toys they become bored and stop playing with the toy in a week or less. However, with Play Sand they have been playing with it every day for more than a month now. Its low cost, durability and ability to hold the children’s interest makes this toy one of the best toys I have ever purchased for my kids.
Customer Review: Great indoor fun
Others have commented that the moon sand is too messy but I think it is great. My boys love playing with it when they can’t be outside in their sandbox. Yes, it is messy and you will have to sweep up the floor but we put it on a large jelly roll pan and the mess isn’t bad. Compare it to the stickiness of play-dough or clay and the moon sand is much easier to clean up. It is relatively dry and can be swept up and wiped up easily. If you have a pristine house that you don’t like dirty, pass on this. But if you don’t mind a bit of mess on the pathway to fun, go for it. As far as the sand itself: the blue and red seem more “stickable” and the white a bit dryer. Not as mouldable but my younger son prefers the white…so….I guess it’s ok.

Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter Customer Review: Lots of Fun
This games is a lot of fun. The charting map is a cool feature and the graphics of your hunting area are awesome. There’s also a nice variety of guns and calls. The only downside is I wish there were more animals. But even with the 5 or so animals it has (bears, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, caribou i think) it’s still a lot of fun. Definitely worth buying.
Customer Review: OK
The Map Edit feature was great but most of the time the game would crash right in the middle of a hunt. At first it was a blast, then it was downhill from there.

Window Graphic - 20×65 Skiing is Believing

March 30th, 2008

Window Graphic - 20×65 Skiing is Believing
Design: Clearvue Graphics Surf and Snow Series Dimensions: 20×65 (Truck) See-through window graphics are printed on mechanically perforated vinyl. This vinyl has a sticky adhesive on one side, protected by a peel away release layer. This perforated material, known as window perf, is made by many companies around the United States. All see-through window graphics are printed on basically the same material. The difference between graphic companies is what they print on this material! The beauty of window perf is that it is incredibly low tech, comprised of 50% vinyl and 50% holes. Human eyes absorb light reflected from objects. When someone looks at the image on your window, their eyes absorb the light being reflected off of the printed image. The holes cannot be seen. The graphic looks like a solid image! The sticky side of the graphic which faces the glass, is black. Looking out from inside the vehicle, your eyes absorb light reflected off objects outside the vehicle, such as buildings, cars, trees, etc. Your eyes blend the black material on the inside with the images seen through the holes, creating the illusion that there is nothing on your window. The resulting effect will amaze you! These graphics apply to the outside of the window and will not effect, or be effected by window tints of factory window defrosters. PRIVACY AND UV PROTECTION Another benefit of having this material on your window is UV protection. ClearVue Graphics block 50% of the sun’s UV rays. These rays are responsible for fading vehicle interiors and heating the cab. ClearVue Graphics will keep your vehicle cooler and preserve the interior from fading. Because these graphics prevent outside viewing into your vehicle, you will enjoy a dramatic increase in privacy as you drive down the road, or while parked at a scenic location. Performance Rock Climbing NULL
Customer Review: Climber’s Training Bible
I bought this book about five years ago and have used it extensively. If you are looking for a book on how to climb, this is not the book. If, however, you are looking for a book that will maximize your physical performance and prevent injury, this is the book for you. Packed with hundreds of pages of insightful text, detailed photos and illustrations, and illuminating charts and tables, this book takes twenty-first century sports medicine and science and condenses it into a practical format for the modern climber. I highly recommend this book.
Customer Review: Easy to understand book giving the why and providing the how
I thoroughly enjoyed the blend of pure science and application to on rock performance.

The authors are world renowned climbers with a clear enthusiasm for the sport and lucid understanding of it’s foundations.

Succinctly, the authors view performance climbing as a harmonious blend of physical and psychological factors, the former subdivided into co-ordination ( technique ),balance, endurance, strength and flexibility.

The book is premised on the concept of the weak link which determines the greatest hinderance to climbing.

For example a body builder who climbs should not work on strength but rather flexibility and technique.
Similarly, a ballerina should not work on balance and flexibility but rather strength and technique.

The key to pushing the grades is to identify your weakest link and train to improve it.

The book is replete with training regimens, exercises, and techniques which address each area stated above.

The single best strategy implicit in the book is to identify when you reach a plateau and to realize that you are now training incorrectly. You should now strive to identify what is now your weakest link and train it. This cycle should continue as long as climb and wish to improve.

A four grade improvement is possible and should be expected within 3 months of adapting your current climbing strategy to this book.

Knots & Ropes for Climbers (Outdoor and Nature) NULL
Customer Review: Redundant and outdated.
As a climber, every piece of gear has to have it’s value and functionality proven.

considering that philosophy, believe this book has little to offer in terms of it’s value. Every climbing book you buy will have this same information and more, and probably more updated. Freedom of the Hills for example.

Illustrations are nice, but entertaining at it’s best value relative to other books. considering it truly offers less than dozen knots and hitches, with variations in all it’s pages (been a while since I referred to this book.)

Image on the cover is probably not that dangerous as suggested by another reader, but definitely outdated practice of rappeling.

Advantage, in the initial days of your rope work learning, you could dog ear this book, as is less bulky to carry around your garage.
Customer Review: Knots & Ropes for Climbers — Review
Illustrated in true Mike Clelland form! Pictures clear and easy to understand. Covers all the basics.

Remember, there is still no subsitute for practicle training. Get out climb and tie some knots!

The Alps (IMAX) In the air above Switzerland, on the sheer rock-and-ice wall known as the Eiger, an American climber is about to embark on the most perilous and meaningful ascent he has ever undertaken: an attempt to scale the legendary mountain that took his renowned fathers life. Against a backdrop of overwhelming natural beauty, The Alps is a true-life story of extrodinary courage. It’s the intensely personal journey of a man who has every reason not to climb the deadly Eiger North Face, yet climb it he must.

Featuring some of the most spectacular giantscreen imagery yet seen, the film celebrates the unsurpassed beauty of the Alps and the indomitable spirit of the people who live there.
Customer Review: A Beautiful Film
I saw “The Alps” at the IMAX theater at the Cincinnati Museum Center back in the fall, and I was very impressed with the film and the overall experience of seeing it in the IMAX format. The photography is beautiful, the setting is quite breathtaking, the music is excellent, and the story is involving, moving and ultimately very inspiring. “The Alps” contrasts the grandeur and majesty of nature with a meditation on the relationships between parents and their children, and does both very well. The film certainly made an impression on me.
Customer Review: The Dumbing Down Of IMAX Films!
This is the worst IMAX film I have seen in my entire life! Sure it has some great pictures of the Alps. It also very briefly covers Global Warming, which is wrecking the glaciers, and the very important subject of avalanche science. Unfortunately 90% of this film is about one man and his obsession to climb the most dangerous mountain in the Alps - The Eiger, by taking the most dangerous route possible - all because his father did the same, and died doing so!

Like father, like son! Never mind both men have or had families with children to support and nurture! Go ahead and make your wife and children watch you foolishly risk your life, so you can prove you’re “A Man.” If you’re single - or have children who are grown adults - do what ever you want! But to have your young child watch your every agonizing step through the end of a telescope, for days, especially after knowing your child’s grandfather fell to his death climbing the exact same route is just beyond belief! Talk about being selfish!

But then to see a rather graphic reenactment of the climber’s father’s fall to his death was nothing short of sick! What’s next, showing a view of the broken body? I could not believe IMAX would stoop so low! Do you really think this it is going to help you sell tickets by reducing IMAX to a second-rate Reality television program?

At the end of this rather disturbing film our “hero” says, “he finally got something out of his system, by following in his father’s footsteps and succeeding this time.” As we were walking out of the theater I turned around to my friend and said, ” it would have been a lot cheaper and easier on his wife and child if he had seen a psychiatrist instead!”

Touching the Void From Oscar?(r)-winning* director Kevin Macdonald comes a riveting true story a gripping, white-knuckle (The Village Voice) adventure culminating in a cliffhanger a real one (LosAngeles Times)! After scaling the never-before-conquered 21,000-foot Siula Grande, mountain climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates face their greatest challenge yet: getting back down. But when Simpson shatters his leg in an awful fall and the friends are separated by a series of devastating mishaps, their individual journeys become a voyage into extreme experience that should not be missed (New York Post)! *1999: Documentary Feature, One Day in September (with Arthur Cohn)
Customer Review: Incredible !!!!
When I saw this movie was at one of the Local Theatres I jumped at the chance to watch it on a Big Screen (it was actually the same one I saw “Downfall”at but that came later).I had not read the Book but had heard rumours of the Story ,I was utterly spellbound when the camera started rolling ,the attitude on both climbers was incredible. Seemingly oblivious to the actual near impossible feat they were about to encounter ,there pioneering whatever it takes philosophy was wonderful and motivational .I will not go into the outcome because the reader would not believe it!…you have to watch the movie (get the DVD well worth it),the one troubling part I had was “Joe” while he was in
one of his MANY DIRE situations stated that even though he had been raised a Catholic he never Prayed or asked for help or thought about God when he needed him most ?,that just seems so strange ?because in my experience even the most ardent NON believers when they are overwhelmed with fear and up against unimaginable odds they automatically think of a higher power its the code of survival in Mans Reptilian core(Watch the “Endurance” Shackletons legendary Antarctic Expedition). When I finally read the Book (Highly recommended)in the preface written by Chris Bonnington which was a Tribute to BOTH Joe and Simon ,he put into professional context just how remarkable this expedition was . if I could give it 10 STARS I WOULD .
Customer Review: Survival tale that should not be missed
True story of incredible survival that may not be fit for the whole family to view. Has some profane language but if you can get by that…. the DVD follows the book closely. You will learn about the Siula Granda Mountain and where one friend “draws the line” on saving a fellow mountain climbers life. Read the book and watch the DVD and then ask yourself “what would I have done in this situtation?”
