Window Graphic - 20×65 Skiing is Life

Window Graphic - 20×65 Skiing is Life
Design: Clearvue Graphics Surf and Snow Series Dimensions: 20×65 (Truck) See-through window graphics are printed on mechanically perforated vinyl. This vinyl has a sticky adhesive on one side, protected by a peel away release layer. This perforated material, known as window perf, is made by many companies around the United States. All see-through window graphics are printed on basically the same material. The difference between graphic companies is what they print on this material! The beauty of window perf is that it is incredibly low tech, comprised of 50% vinyl and 50% holes. Human eyes absorb light reflected from objects. When someone looks at the image on your window, their eyes absorb the light being reflected off of the printed image. The holes cannot be seen. The graphic looks like a solid image! The sticky side of the graphic which faces the glass, is black. Looking out from inside the vehicle, your eyes absorb light reflected off objects outside the vehicle, such as buildings, cars, trees, etc. Your eyes blend the black material on the inside with the images seen through the holes, creating the illusion that there is nothing on your window. The resulting effect will amaze you! These graphics apply to the outside of the window and will not effect, or be effected by window tints of factory window defrosters. PRIVACY AND UV PROTECTION Another benefit of having this material on your window is UV protection. ClearVue Graphics block 50% of the sun’s UV rays. These rays are responsible for fading vehicle interiors and heating the cab. ClearVue Graphics will keep your vehicle cooler and preserve the interior from fading. Because these graphics prevent outside viewing into your vehicle, you will enjoy a dramatic increase in privacy as you drive down the road, or while parked at a scenic location. PHOTOGRAPHS AND ILLUSTRATIONS ClearVue Graphics use high-resolution photographic images for many of our graphics. Our images are

Amazon.com Bicycle Buying Guide
Finding the Right Bike
To really enjoy cycling, it’s important to find a bicycle that works for you. Here are some things to keep in mind when you’re in the market for a new bike:

The Right Ride
In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

  • Road and Racing Bikes–As a general rule, road and racing are built for speed and longer distances on paved surfaces. Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.
  • Mountain Bikes–With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike–even one that you use regularly on trails–adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.
  • Comfort/Cruiser Bikes–For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. With a super-relaxed riding position, padded seats, and limited or no gearing, these bikes are made for enjoying the scenery and having fun with the family.

The Right Price
A bike’s price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

  • Entry-level–You’ll find a wide range of comfort and cruiser bikes in this category, as well as some lower-end mountain bikes and road bikes. Most will have steel frames and components that are designed to last for several years with frequent use.
  • Mid-range–Bikes in this range may feature a lighter aluminum frame with mid-range components that keep performing after miles of use. If you’re looking for a quality bike that is relatively lightweight and will stand up to abuse, this is the “sweet spot.” Most serious commuter and touring bikes fall into this category, as do mid-range mountain bikes with a decent front suspension.
  • High-end–Racers and serious enthusiasts who expect lightweight, high-performance components will want to stick to this category. For road bikes, exotic frame materials (carbon fiber, titanium) and ultra-lightweight components can add thousands to the price tag. Mountain bikes in this class often feature advanced front and rear suspension technology, as well as components designed to handle lots of rugged trail action.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

  • Stand-over Height–To find out if a bike’s overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you’ll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you’ll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
  • Top Tube Length–You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike’s posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
  • Bikes for Women–Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women’s bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

The Right Accessories
When you make a bike purchase, don’t forget these crucial add-ons:

  • Helmet (this is a must!)
  • Seat pack
  • Lock
  • Hydration pack, or water bottles and bottle cages
  • Spare tubes
  • Portable bike pump
  • Gloves

Customer Review: Jeep should take its name off this horrible bike!
I bought this bike thinking since Jeep put its name on it then it should be a great, tough, rock solid ride! Boy was I wrong! Not only the bike feels cheap and extremely heavy, its mechanics are worst part. After taking it to a bike shop to get it tuned professionally, 10 of its gears still don’t work. Now you may say well the mechanic did a quick crappy job, let me tell ya, I stood by the guy as he worked on it for 2 hours yet the gears still didn’t work. Overall, I’d have to give this bike two thumbs down. You’re better off buying a bike from walmart!

Dahlgren Skiing Sock

January 31st, 2008

Dahlgren Skiing Sock
Founded in 1979, PDahlgren’s Footwear brought regular boring socks to a new height. Socks that were comfortable! Ray Dahlgren created a sock with a cotton foot. This way, your foot could remain cool. The acrylic top helped the socks to stay up. (This sock became known as the Cotton Foot). The socks were very successful and were adopted as part of the official uniforms of teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, the San Diego Chargers, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Oakland Raiders. With the success of these socks, Dahlgren took technology one step further. In order to create a more efficient system, Dahlgren realized that moisture control should be the primary focus of a sock. Sixteen years of extensive research in the area of podiatry and the properties of different fibers produced the pride of Dahlgren Footwear: the patented Dri-Stride System. This system utilizes specific yarns in specific zones (high moisture zones and moisture transfer zones) to help control the climate and temperature of the foot. Dahlgren Footwear makes technical footwear. Try out these favorites. The Dahlgren Backpacking Sock is made of an Alpaca/wool blend. The Dahlgren Skiing Sock has terried cushioning. The Dahlgren City Walking Sock is comfortable and makes your walk a pleasure. The Dahlgren Expedition Sock is extra warm.

Sigg Lifestyle Sport Top Water Bottle (0.6-Liters) A safe, stylish alternative to plastic water bottles, Sigg water bottles are a great choice for transporting beverages on your daily commute or while backcountry hiking. This ultra-lightweight bottle is extruded from a single piece of aluminum and holds 0.6 liters of fluid (20.3 ounces). Designed to fit your on-the-go lifestyle, it comes with a leak-proof, three-stage sport top–just turn once, pull twice, and it’s ready to drink. The automatic mouthpiece enables one-handed maneuvering and its larger opening provides an increased amount of flow.

Sigg bottles are virtually unbreakable and are constructed with no seams, ensuring a long-lasting, leak-proof performance. They also feature Sigg’s proprietary baked-on inner liner, which is made from a non-toxic, water-based epoxy resin that exceeds FDA requirements for leaching (0.0 percent) and is independently tested to be taste- and scent-neutral. Every Sigg bottle is 100 percent recyclable at the end of its life, and is backed by a lifetime warranty.

About Sigg
It all started with a simple hiker’s bottle. Today, the SIGG bottle has acquired cult status. What happened is a success story that started in Biel, Switzerland in 1908. K?ng, Sigg & Cie. manufactured leisure goods, kitchenware, and electrical appliances. The company relocated to Frauenfeld in 1916, where it helped pioneer the legendary tradition of Swiss quality. Since 1998, SIGG has concentrated on its core business: drinking bottles that deliver ultimate customer benefit.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can Sigg bottles be used for boiling water?
A: No. Strong heat can damage the outer coating.

Q: Can dents in the bottle damage the Sigg bottle’s inner coating?
A: No, the Sigg inner coating is highly elastic. Dents cannot crack or chip the internal lining and the Sigg bottle remains perfectly usable.

Q: Can I use my Sigg bottle for carbonated drinks?
A: Yes, all Sigg bottle tops provide a 100 percent seal and will not leak. It’s recommended that you fill the bottle no further than 1/2-inch below the lip. And before taking a drink, relieve the pressure inside the bottle by gently rotating the entire top.

Q: Are Sigg bottles dishwasher safe?
A: Yes, but because of the narrow mouth of the bottle, hand washing is recommended.

Q: Can a Sigg bottle be placed in the freezer
A: No, as this may cause the bottle to crack. However, the bottle can be chilled in the refrigerator.

Customer Review: Sigg Water Bottle
Just what I was looking for in a non-leaching bottle solution, great gift idea and a contribution to the “green” effort. Also, great designs!
Customer Review: Great Water Bottles But Easily Dented
These are great water bottles, love the form, function, and looks. However, I’ve found that they’re very easily dented, even from average use. The aluminum is just too thin in my opinion. For their expense, I expected a more durable product.

Customer Review: Worked nicely…
…for about 10 days and then mysteriously stopped. Tried to get an exchange but the seller (not Amazon) can only give my money back. Avoid the hassle and go with a different brand.

Customer Review: It works but it’s a little persnickety…
I really can’t entirely complain about this item since it ultimately does what it’s supposed to do but with an item that has so few functions that need to work properly I was a little dissapointed that the tare/zero button seemed to be rather fickle. It takes about six or seven presses of the button for me to get it to actually zero out otherwise it generally skates above zero enough to throw off my readings. This probably won’t matter for most casual kitchen use but I use this to weigh out brewing ingredients and for the sake of consistancy in my homebrewing getting the correct weights is something that I value.

In summary, it’s a decent scale and the price was right. Perhaps I’m a little spoiled since I work in a lab and have some really fantastic scales. This model should work for most people’s everday use but it isn’t the best solution for the hobbiest needing precise measurements.

Customer Review: delicious, not too salty and not too sweet
This review pertains to the Clif Mojo Bar, Peanut Butter Pretzel flavor: I’ve tried a lot of different protein bars and this is one of my favorite flavors. There is a good balance of peanut and caramel flavors in this bar. The closest competitive bar I can think of is Odwalla’s sweet and salty peanut bar, but the Odwalla bar has a higher content of nuts and is also sweeter. While the Clif bar has slightly less protein and fat (and significantly less fiber) because of the lower proportion of nuts in its bar, I prefer the Clif bar overall in terms of flavor. It’s sweet enough that you feel like you’re eating a treat but not so sweet that you start getting cravings to eat other sweets. Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Better than your average granola bar
These are much better than regular granola bars. Much more flavor and full piceces of nuts in them.

Customer Review: Awesome price. Awesome scale
I have had this scale for 2 years and I love it. It’s simple, it’s accurate, it’s cheap. If I ever had to buy one again I would.
Customer Review: Great Value
This scale is easy to use and has a pretty fast refresh rate so you have fairly good control over what you’re measuring. The only strange thing I found trying to buy it on Amazon was the range of prices for the same exact color and the price range for all of the scales that are exactly the same model, but different colors. I’d recommend searching Amazon thoroughly for the best price before putting one in your cart.

Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, rejected five times by the USC film school, won the best director award at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival for this alarmingly personal investigation into the health hazards wreaked by our fast food nation. Under extensive medical supervision, Spurlock subjects himself to a steady diet of McDonald’s cuisine for 30 days just to see what happens. In less than a week, his ordinarily fit body and equilibrium undergo dark and ugly changes: Spurlock grows fat, his cholesterol rockets north, his organs take a beating, and he becomes subject to headaches, mood swings, symptoms of addiction, and lessened sexual energy. The gimmick is too obvious to sustain a feature documentary; Spurlock actually spends most of the film probing insidious ways that fast food companies worm their way into school lunchrooms and the hearts of young children who spend hours in McDonald’s playrooms. French fries never looked more nauseating. –Tom Keogh

Customer Review: Super Size Me
Fantastic DVD. More people should see this and stop the fast food habit. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in protecting their health. Fast food is one of the worst things we can put in our bodies, unless we have a death wish, then go ahead and eat it! See the DVD, you will be glad you did.
Customer Review: Suprisingly entertaining
I kept hearing this was good, so I got the dvd. The title & idea sound boring but it was fun & informative. Makes you think twice about some bad habits we have.

The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals

January 31st, 2008

The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
A New York Times bestseller that has changed the way readers view the ecology of eating, this revolutionary book by award winner Michael Pollan asks the seemingly simple question: What should we have for dinner? Tracing from source to table each of the food chains that sustain us—whether industrial or organic, alternative or processed—he develops a portrait of the American way of eating. The result is a sweeping, surprising exploration of the hungers that have shaped our evolution, and of the profound implications our food choices have for the health of our species and the future of our planet.

Customer Review: Before you eat that steak….
The general premise in Michael Pollan’s book about industrial agriculture being a brutal and corrupt business is not news to me. But he did manage to make my eyes open even wider and stop and consider what is going on in this country in regards to the raising and slaughter of our farm animals. This is not a book that aims to necessarily convert people to vegetarians, but rather to educate the reader about the many reasons why they should stop and consider just where their food is coming from and how it is being raised. Also explores the difference between the “organic” food movement and real organic sustainable farming. Pollan goes on his own personal journey to look at the process of meat eating, and encourages all meat eaters to do the same. If you are going to eat meat, it’s your obligation to consider the life of the animal that is feeding you. This is not a book just for vegetarians but for anyone who is interested in the politics of agriculture, the health and quality of the food they put in their mouth, and anyone who has respect for the creatures we rely upon to be a bulk of our American diet.

Customer Review: Bravo
Michael Pollan traced the origins of our present-day “square-meals” as he wallowed across the fertile cornfields of Iowa. His approach might not have been strictly scientific; yet, it was all the while insightful. In fact, some of his inferences would attract applause from even the most skeptical dietitian.

You: On A Diet: The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management
For the first time in our history, scientists are uncovering astounding medical evidence about dieting — and why so many of us struggle with our weight and the size of our waists. Now researchers are unraveling biological secrets about such things as why you crave chocolate or gorge at buffets or store so much fat.

Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz, America’s most trusted doctor team and authors of the bestselling YOU series, are now translating this cutting-edge information to help you shave inches off your waist. They’re going to do it by giving you the best weapon against fat: knowledge. By understanding how your body’s fat-storing and fat-burning systems work, you’re going to learn how to crack the code on true and lifelong waist management.

Roizen and Oz will invigorate you with equal parts information, motivation, and change-your-life action to show you how your brain, stomach, hormones, muscles, heart, genetics, and stress levels all interact biologically to determine if your body is the size of a baseball bat or of a baseball stadium. In YOU: On a Diet, Roizen and Oz will redefine what a healthy figure is, then take you through an under-theskin tour of the organs that influence your body’s size and its health. You’ll even be convinced that the key number to fixate on is not your weight, but your waist size, which best indicates the medical risks of storing too much fat.

Because the world has almost as many diet plans as it has e-mail spammers, you’d think that just about all of us would know everything there is to know about dieting, about fat, and about the reasons why our bellies have grown so large. YOU: On a Diet is much more than a diet plan or a series of instructions and guidelines or a faddish berries-only eating plan. It’s a complete manual for waist management. It will show you how to achieve and maintain an ideal and healthy body size by providing a lexicon according to which any weight-loss system can be explained. YOU: On a Diet will serve as the operating system that facilitates future evolution in our dieting software. After you learn about the biology of your body and the biology and psychology of fat, you’ll be given the YOU Diet and YOU Workout. Both are easy to learn, follow, and maintain. Following a two-week rebooting program will help you lose up to two inches from your waist right from the start.

With Roizen and Oz’s signature accessibility, wit, and humor, YOU: On a Diet — The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management will revolutionize the way you think about yourself and the food you consume, so that you’ll diet smart, not hard. Welcome to your body on a diet.

Customer Review: Info for Anyone who goes on a Diet
This book explains what seemed to be unexplainable. How to work with your own body’s physiology to beat those extra pounds!
Customer Review: I’ve never learned so much about digestion and hunger
You On A Diet is a great book. You’ll learn a ton about your body and how food works within your body. It seems like there isn’t much new here, other than this is a healthy carb, lower calorie eating plan. This diet is about general guidelines, not hard and fast rules. I would highly recommend this book in conjuction with the Beck Solution which is a congnative therapy approach to dieting, some of which is lightly covered in You On A Diet.

Laugh and Learn About Breastfeeding
Although Breastfeeding is a natural process, it is mostly a learned art. Obstacles are the norm, but it is the best start that a mother can give her new baby. Breastfeeding benefits both mothers and babies, it protects babies from disease, and women who have nursed have substantially lower rates of breast cancer. Like the other two video classes in this series, ‘Laugh and Learn About Childbirth’ and ‘Laugh and Learn About Newborn Baby Care’, ‘Laugh and Learn About Breastfeeding’ is a comprehensive, fun and entertaining way to learn everything you need to know to have a pleasant Breastfeeding experience. On her new DVD, Sheri Bayles, RN shares her experiences, gives tips and strategies to avoid Breastfeeding obstacles, explains latch on, holds and positions, especially for breastfeeding twins, pumping, diet, and setting up a schedule that let’s you get a good night of sleep. Best of all, in her class you get to watch and learn with real live demonstrations of all the techniques.

Customer Review: Entertaining & Informative
This DVD shows various breastfeeding positions & gives a wealth of useful information. I would have preferred a little more in-depth information, but it is still well worth the time to watch this (especially if you are first-time parents). I purchased this & her newborn care DVD & found them both to be useful.
Customer Review: Not many laughs and only limited learning
This video was informative enough, but it’s brief, and really doesn’t have anything I haven’t seen on You Tube or other free sources. I was a little wary about the humor since the title is ‘Learn and Laugh About Breastfeeding’ after all, but Sheri Bayles is simply not funny, and at points it’s painful to watch. She’s clearly working hard to sell her schtick, but the purpose of the video is to get info on breastfeeding, not to allow an outlet for an obviously frustrated comedienne. She knows breastfeeding facts, and she’d do better to just give the information. Finally, it’d be a better video if they included more footage of real babies feeding, latching, etc., rather than focusing on the baby dolls and Sheri’s endless banter from the couch.

Customer Review: Streak & Style
My 6 and 7 year old daughters and I have had a lot of fun doing makeovers with our streak n style. The colors wash out easily–and my youngest has platinum blonde hair.
Customer Review: Very pleased Mom
My daughter only wanted this for Christmas and only Amazon had it in stock. She and I both love it! She looks so cute and the color comes out mostly after one wash. Some times it takes two to get it all out. It dries quickly and stays put.
